Good morning, bought a lovely new laptop but it has Windows 7 preinstalled. Thought there are problems installing dear old Office 2003 with Windows 7. I have installed it from a disc and programmes are usable but every time I open a document a dreary message appears the EULA. Went on line to find out how to stop this but could not understand the instructions.
Any ideas?

right-click on a shortcut to one of the apps, and select "Run as Administrator".:idea:0

tried that via Explorer right click does not show the Administrator function.0

No prompt should appear! I used to run Office 2003 on Windows 7 Pro, and Word just started. Try a repair of Office 2003, or, if that doesn't work, then a reinstall...0

Just a thought; did your new PC come with a demo version of Office 2007/10 on it? Did you uninstall that before putting 2003 on? There could be a conflict there, somewhere.I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.0 -
Have uninstalled 2010 and will try again .....0

Could be what WhiteChristmas said.....i had 2010 on mine and once i put 2007 on it i kept getting it up0

When run as administrator does not come up when you right click try right clicking again and selecting properties and run in compatibility mode. Maybe that would fix the problem.0

Have given up and installed 2007, I remembered a copy of Home/Student lurking upstairs. There is a lot online about the problems of installing Office 2003 on Windows 7. Another solution would have been to partition the Windows & and install XP (also upstairs) and then install Office 2003.
I do dislike what they have done to Word with its wretched ribbon. I do a lot of work for Councils and nobody has upgraded to 2007 (and are unlikely to because of the cuts) therefore you have to save as 97-03. Also the nice features of 2003 like auto text, index and tables, references, tables are far more difficult to use. Microsoft if you are listening make Office 2003 work with Windows 7 or upgrade it. I saw online the pleas of many medical secretaries and others to get their 2003 Word back. As far as I am concerned Word 2003 and Excel 2003 were the perfect products. I also cant use Outlook 2003 which was also pretty good. Why cant these big organisations listen to the customer?
Sorry for the rant and thanks for all your support.0 -
Sorry for your rant, but I've had Win7 64bit and Office Pro 2003 working together for over a year with never a problem.
The solution is with John Gray and WhiteChristmas above.
If there was any sort of demo, then even after uninstalling, I'm guessing there would be some remnants which would have to be manually removed.Move along, nothing to see.0
