Well done for sticking with kitten so far!

I had a nightmare with our cats when we first got them.

Lucy, she's now 7 1/2 ishyrs, well what can i say, i had dumped on me almost years ago. Three weeks to live, covered in mites / fleas, was told she was 6 months plus. Guess what she wasn't, vet said between 16 - 22 weeks? and the vet said she had already had a litter of kittens:eek:.

So as soon as she was well enough, she was spayed immediately, ear mites all gone. She is now the most affectionate cat you can get. But the amount of health problems she still has is disgusting. My other cat tom, also got him at 5weeks, was spayed asap, no way was i allowing him to go around getting other cats pregnant.

Jojo i agree with you though, both my cats treat me like they mum, tot he point where my partner says go find your mam, and lo and behold two tabbies come crying at me.

Just beware though, when the kitten gets older, she might come wandering like mine do. I.E very proudly jumps on the worktop, said kitten then drops dead bird in a pan, looks at me smiling, chuffed with itself. Cheeky devil then sits and waits for me to cook it.

I'm pretty sure in this case it was the shocking attitutude of my friend and the cat owner as to why this poor cat suffered. I do honestly believe cat / dog "breeders" should be regulated. I've seen far too many cats / dogs die from being mistreated.

Me and my partner both feel the same way , be a responsibe pet carer / owner get your animals neutered/ spayed if you do not want them to have offspring.

I get presented with muffled squeaks as she runs in. It always means trouble, even before I look and see the long legs - all 8 of them - poking out between her teeth and wiggling. But she only wants to show me, there's no sharing involved.

They fight to the death for craneflies and moths, though - they seem to expect me to catch them and hand them over because I'm taller.

    Strange creatures!

I kept all the kittens until they were 12 weeks as the vet advised, and then found it impossible to rehome them. All anyone wanted were the cute and cuddly 6 week old bundles of fluff advertised for £100 on Preloved and the like.
    !

Pedigree kittens aren't sold till 13 weeks.

Charlie was so little at 13 weeks, god only knows how tiny cats are when they are sold early:eek:

Sadly there will always be irresponsible people out there when it comes to any animal - she is lucky to have found you and I'm so glad that she is now strong and growing fast. You've both been blessed with each other and enjoy the times to come with her - cats leave paw prints on your heart x

They are really tiny at five weeks, also tom was a fat lump when we got him. My eldest at the time was 5 years old, he could literally fit one of his hands.

While Lucy is still small and skinny tow, i just couldn't believe when she said she had already had a set of kittens She is now half the size of tom. But she eats like a horse, so i know she's fine.

To give you an idea of scale, I think that is about a size 2 -3 converse.
