Hi chloo,
some good replies here. Personally I'd give in and give her a discount, and also send it by trackable post just in case....
I know it's going to cost you but it might be a worthwhile "investment" if you plan to carry on selling.
When I was selling, I never offered a discount but people used to ask for one and if I could then I did. This gave me more flexibility, although I probably lost some bids because of it.
Selling on E Bay can be a bit of a minefield !
Good luck, let us know what happens.

eBay is changing a lot, and it really always has been about the customer and their needs rather than about how accommodating sellers are prepared to be. There are certain things buyers take as given now, and that usually includes fair postage prices and combined postage on multiple items. I've always done it, never occurred to me not to.Hi chloo,

It needn't be a minefield if you are prepared to understand that the customer is not an irritating necessary evil but the person you most want to see in your selling career."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Your statement I AM MORE THAN HAPPY TO COMBINE POSTAGE COSTS IF YOU WANT MULITPLE ITEMS JUST ASK!!! says nothing about asking before the auction finishes. She did ask and you refused. Did she pay separately for each item after you told her this? If so she obviously thought she would cost you a bit extra in paypal fees. Why would you wrap the items before anyway - how did you know one of your potential buyers who had asked about combined postage BEFORE the end of the aution wouldn't win.0

all is done i have sent them both seperatly with recorded signed for delivery so she cant say they didnt turn up!
oh dear i can see i have been had by whsmiths off to pound world i go for some of the bags i dont know why i didnt think of that!
i was polite in my reply and just explained the situaltion to her now if she leaves a neg i think i could argue against it by saying she paid seperatly and threated to 'leave bad feedback'.
thank you all for your advice.0 -

Chloo, you have posted in other threads that you are 19, a student, and have previously created an issue on ebay by listing pants and describing yourself as a 'knicker hoarder'....
I am sorry to be so frank because you seem like a nice person, but I really suggest you read more on these boards before any further selling because at the moment you are heading for a lot of negs and low DSRs which WILL affect future selling. You've had a lot of good advice here and it would be wise to think things through for next time.0 -
Is there much point in thanking them for advice you completely ignored?I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0

If I won two items with the comment "I AM MORE THAN HAPPY TO COMBINE POSTAGE COSTS IF YOU WANT MULITPLE ITEMS JUST ASK!!!", and when I asked the seller said they weren't happy to combine postage, then I would tell them to get stuffed and pay them nothing.0

You only need to read around the board a little to realise that you may not have heard the last of this. Recorded Delivery is far from perfect, and often never gets tracked. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -

I think that'll just show the buyer did do what she said she would, and you didn't, in this particular case I'm afraid.0 -
What if you'd had non paying bidders? You'd have wasted the posting bags by parcelling something up that wasn't going to be posted out. And then next time someone could want it combined with another sale. I'd want combined postage too, based on what your ad said, even if I contacted you afterwards to request it. I honestly cannot understand your point on this at all. Hope it works out okay for the buyer, she has my sympathies!0
