OP - why didn't you cancel the DD yourself??"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

2) They took my mortgage payment again by mistake on 26/1/11 (they didn't cancel DD) and again i was told this would also be refunded when i spoke to one of their financial advisers on 31/1/11 who has emailed their head office advising them of these points.
Probably would have been better to speak to a clerk rather than one of their insurance company sales reps. They probably don't have a clue how to resolve it and hence why they just passed a message on. It is usually best to get the right people to deal with things where possible.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). You have a lender there for you could ask for extra lending from them without having to go through the verification process and application. They have all your details, they know your credit capabilities. Maybe I am wrong, maybe you could correct me?
Very hard for them determine that information just because you retain a £1 balance on your mortgage account.
If you require a further advance you would need to go through the whole application process again.0 -

The only reason I was keeping a £1 nominal balance was so I could borrow back my overpayments - you don't have to apply again for this. Still trying to get nationwide to admit they messed up in my case though!0
