Odd Car Insurance Claim Telephone Call

In december a young girl drove into the back of my parked vehicle. I was not in the vehicle at the time but my partner was, (he was not injured).
Notified my insurance co but proceeded no further with instead claiming through the other party's insurance. All done and car finally repaired earlier this week.
Today I received a call at home from a company, can't remeber name, saying that they £1500 available for me to claim back regading the accident. The caller had no details of the accident and just said her company had been forwarded my details and this is usual practice. I could not understand from her what the £1500 was for but she kept insisting that I claim it back. I couldn't make her understand that I hadn't paid out anything so could claim nothing back.
Am I missing the point and being really dim?? when I told her I was not in the veh but my partner was she suddenly changed and said "Oh the money is for him then".
any ideas what this could be about??
sorry for length of post

I can't believe this is either your Insurers or the third parties that has passed on the details to this company.
Why would you be able to claim back £1500 unless this was related to a personal injury made up claim for your partner, for which this company was going to benefit from.
If you or your partner have not made enquiries about pursuing a PI claim, I would report this to your Insurers and the third parties Insurers. If you managed to get hold of the companies name and contact details, pass these on to them. You never know, one of their staff may be passing on information to an outside company, trying to profit from internal information. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
I havd the same thing happen to me after a minor bump when someone drove into the back of my car at a roundabout.
The call came only about 2 days after i reported the accident to my insurers.
The caller was really insistent that I claim for something. When I explained no-one was injured she started rhyming off all sorts of things i could claim for: time lost at work due to phonecalls to insurers, cost of phonecalls to insurers, cost of fuel to drive my car to the repairers, she went on and on and on.....
I said I wasn't interested in any of it, never heard from them again.0 -
Thanks for your replies.
I had a feeling it was something like that. Very annoying that they get your details somehow. Fingers crossed they wont call again.0
