The various Halifax rewards (£5 on current account, higher rate on ISA) are conditional on paying in at least £1k per month. Your salary is probably enough, to have accumulated that much, but if you were say only adding £999 per month you wouldn't get all the perks.
You could perhaps set up a standing order to automatically transfer surplus income, perhaps a few hundred, to a savings account, just to
reduce the amount you accumulate in your current account. Could choose a regular savings account which tends to pay a little more interest.
if you like having a healthy balance in your current account (so you don't ever have to worry about going overdrawn) you could consider switching to one that pays interest (e.g. make a Lloyds vantage account your main current account).0

If you decide to put money in a Halifax Regular Saver, leave the Guaranteed Saver open, with £1 in it, as the Regular Saver proceeds need to be moved into a Saver account at the end of the year. You then move it somewhere better.Eco Miser
