Child benefit help please.

Hi,
I need a bit of advice about child benefit, wether I'm right/wrong or is there anything I can do about my problem.
I got a letter in Nov/Dec to inform me the benefit would be paid direct into bank instead of by cheque. I sent my bank details as requested (was a few days after the date they wanted them by) and heard nothing. By mid January I resent the details along with the letter and mentioned that this was the second time I'd wrote to them.
On Tuesday I checked my bank and they'd made the payment for that week but no backpay. Is that correct? I've been without CB from the beginning of January  If theres nothing I can do about it then fair enough... just wanting other peoples opinions or experiences please
Thanks.

I don't know for sure but I think you should get the back pay. You need to speak to someone about it. Maybe citizens advice could help?
I hope you get it, its bloody criminal if you don't!So far - ****** LINK - Settled @ 70% ****** MOTORMILE - Settled @ 45% ****** POUNDS TO POCKET - Settled @ 45%

phone them up? I assume there will be some contact details on the letter. Or google the number.
I can't see why you shouldn't get it.Indecision is the key to flexibility

Yeah call them, as above, surely you should be entitled to get backpay for itThe opposite of what you know...is also true0

Backpay is never paid at the same time as normal payments so just wait a few days and you should get your backpay.0

Thanks for the advice

I'll check my bank again on Monday morning and if theres no joy then I'll give them a ring. Thats given it a week for them to put the backpay in the bank.
Cheers :TEven if you stumble, you're still moving forward.0
