  • Are you a member of a union? If so, have you requested their support?

Have you familiarised yourself with your organisation's conduct procedure, so you can start to think about how to deal with the situation?

If they are currently investigating the allegations, there is not a huge amount you can do. However, if I was you I would be finding out as much as I could about the conduct procedures that are being followed, and working on my defense.

told that i wont even know the aligations until meeting so finding it hard to defend my self .Feel they could say what they want and i cant defend myself
  • depends on the path they are going to take. just because they are investigating dosnt mean they will be persuing a discaplinary.

i was in a similar situation with my last employer over medication issue, i was given fair warning of a dicallinary taking place given copies of all statements about the incident and given time to read them i was aloso given a copy of my employers dicaplinary policy and told of where i could get advice etc.

the employer did persue dicaplinary action (obviously) and i was given a final warning for the following offences.

    bereach in health and safety
breach of local authoritys adult protection policy
    endangering a service users life

i was fuully expecting to be given my notice but wasnt as over 10 years service i had only been in trouble once, plus a few other factors. i also accepted all blame for the incident. i was told afterwards of the record that if i had denied responsibility or trried to shift the blame in anyway i would have recieved my notice there and then.

so hopefully you have a good and understanding employer

Lugs, so we can make sure you get the correct information for your circumstances, can you tell us...

    1) How long have you worked for this employer?

    2) Do you have any previous warnings/disciplinary record?
I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.
  • been at company 4 years

If it's to investigate then there are no "charges" to fight at that time.
