cheap laptop v cheap notebook

i've just been on the dell wabsite and the cheapest laptop is £399.

While i was there i seen a notebook for £329

i only want to surf the web and run my OU software should i get a note book.

Are there any cheaper notebook's than dells £329?

would appreciate any feedback

  • There is no difference between a laptop or a notebook, they are used interchangeably by manufacturers. Rumour was that they wanted to get away from laptop in case someone sued them when the laptop burned there lap as some of these machines can get rather hot underneath :eek:

    So look at the specifications and choose. For running XP, browsing the internet, running office applications, a £300-400 laptop should suffice, just make sure it has 512Mb of memory and you'll be fine.
