trust funds for compensation awards & benefits effects

Hi, I'm a single mum due to be awarded compensation for a severe accident. I am currently on incapacity based income support & housing benefit and have read about legally setting up a trust for my child to receive the award, so she will benefit from my injuries rather than me losing my benefits. Can anyone help on this? not even sure what amount may be or if it will effect my benefit.
Many thanks mamamama:o

Seek legal and expert benefit advice so you don't breach the deprivation of capital rules.
I wonder if you are refererring to personal injury trusts which protect people that receive compensation.
This is a solicitors site that explains how they work, not a personal recommendation.

Thank you kindly.
It is a bit of a minefield.:(0 -
Have you not considered paying your own way instead of squirrelling the money away?0
