you could set your proxy bids to start within the last 12 hours. The seller cant make any changes to the listing after that time.0

Someone setup a sniper to bid upto a max amount and the auction is revised ( or added info)
example
If seller listed laptop ( worth £600)
then later revised to say
" OMG after listing I just dropped it and its truely kn@ckered - anyway will leave it on sale in case anyone wants to bid for the broken parts "
a "proper bidder" would have this knowledge before he bids, but a sniper would surely be bound by the sale - as his bid is officially made after the amendment
You tell the seller to get lost.
So you might get NPB'd and negged for it, but so what, if you are sensible and use a disposable account to buy things.0 -
Wow, can't believe how many responses I've had on this subject!
I have looked at the auctionstealer and bidnip websites that have been recommended. However, my concern is that both organisations require me to give them my eBay username and password so that they can snipe on my behalf in the last few seconds.
This all sounds well and good, but my concern is with security. Having given these organisations my details, what is to stop them from bidding on items I haven't authorised or even changing my password etc.?????
Anybody know a way round this one? Has anybody written their own macro or program that will do it for them i.e. snipe on an auction in the last few seconds?

There are software programs that do this, but your computer would need to be online when the auctions ends. With the website versions, this is not an issue.
You are right to be wary of giving out your ebay password, but Auctionstealer/Hammertap have been reviewed/recommended quite a lot in the computer press, with no adverse comments. To be on the safe side, just make sure your ebay password is different to any other passwords, especially your Paypal account0
