Agreed. Even Lloyds should be back paying one next year. Quite a few nice fixed coupon stocks floating around too at the min.0

Is there a list that displays which companies pay dividends and what you need to qualify for them?0

Dividends aren't gaurenteed with any company. So no.
If you own shares, you'll get a dividend if the company is given them out.0 -

What's the deal with International Power? 35%Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

Not sure how the 35% has been calculated, but as part of the merger agreement with GDF Suez a special dividend of 92p a share was payable. The shares went ex-divi this special dividend on Wednesday which resulted in a 20% drop in the share price. What's the deal with International Power? 35%0 -
I’m interested in some companies which hopefully have a good Dividend Yield, but in my case I’m not sure how any dividends would be paid.
For example, I bought BP shares last year through a HL Vantage Fund & Share Account and received a Contract Note. My HL account is set up so any income is paid out.
I should be due to receive a dividend payment from BP after the payment date in March. Do I need to take any action or just be patient?0 -

It is paid on 28th March, you have a ex div date (9th Feb) which means you are entitled to the divi if you sell after this date and if you buy vice versa, and a payment date when the divi is actually paid out.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. The ones which im currently in and have good dividends are RSA, Aviva, Vodaphone, and a few BT.
Youv also got to look at how strong company is and if you will get capital growth.0 -
Thanks StevieJ. I edited to add the Payment Date. I'm still unsure if I need to take any action, though, or should I automatically receive the payment?0
