My son is on SSP and he didnt get paid today. His work is "looking into it". All his DD payments come out of the bank tomorrow- which might be Monday now. Will they put charges on automatically ? He banks with the Clydesdale. What should he do ?

I would have thought that if they had the cash available they wouldnt be posting here for advice
I would get him to ring the bank ASAP and explain what has happened. They may be able to give him a temporary overdraft until the money goes in.Getting fit for 2013 - Starting weight 10.1.13 88.1kg

How much you would think of her son needs for the DDs? Get his friends, relatives to give him a hand? I am sure it will be much easier than to talk to the bank?!0 -
Agreed - talk to friends/family to see if you can get the cash - BUT - speak to the bank as well. If the bank know the circumstances, they may well agree to temporary measures. Not as green as I am cabbage looking0

Cancel the Direct Debits with the bank today before the close of business - It's a lot easier just calling them up again and either pay by Card or re-setting up another Direct Debit than paying for the bank charges.David

It is not easy to be parents as always. But hey, you have done a good job! Hope all go well with your son and you! Cheers.....0 -

Should of been OK if it was before close of business? - But guess it all depends on the banks procedures.David
