Can anybody recommend a website that give you information about wireless networks??
We've been given a router by AOL to solve our connection problems (which it has) but I cant get it to go wireless and I really dont know what im doing wrong!! The laptop picks up the signal from the router but as soon as I try and sign onto the internet without the ethernet cable connected it wont let me do it.
I think Im being really thick but I havent a clue what Im doing and its driving me insane!! i really need to be able to use wireless as otherwise I have to sit in the hall way to use the computer as the cable isnt long enough to reach my desk

Is it just a router with a separate modem or has it got a modem inbuilt? If it has you are not meant to "sign onto the internet", the modem/router does that for you. If it doesn't have a modem built in and you have a separate modem then you sign onto the internet with the computer connected to the modem."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Your laptop has either the ability to be wireless or you have a card I take it?0

try switching off the security temporarily... it might be the WEP keys which are messing things up0
