Help,I need some serious saving/investing advice

Ive not declared im out of the country yet,basically im travelling the world and still paying british NI so shouldnt have to pay tax on the sale of the house.
Im gonna search the forum but Ive just heard on good authority about getting 12% on savings from a NZ Bank but obviously you need to be a NZ resident,has anyone heard this?? I hear thare are loop holes in becoming a resident

I'd be as careful as possible to keep your money out of Thailand, esp. Thai property. The new military government has proved they have no idea what they are doing, and property rights can easily be destroyed in that situation. I'd consider keeping your money in a selection of "hard currencies" outside Thailand, possibly Singapore. The thai authorities have showed they are willing to take drastic action to prevent the baht rising strongly. Don't be swayed by high interest rates in other countries - the exchange rate risk outweighs nearly everything else. Countries usually have a high interest rate because they have high inflation, which causes their currency to weaken in the longer term.
