some banks yes
e.g i was going to leave lloyds as they could only provide a cash card and advisors on help desk say you cant upgrade to full visa debit til 6 months active
visited the manager
overrided it and got it few days after
a manager can override a few things (inc a overdraft i believe)0 -
They may have the ability to help you appeal the decision or maybe override certain things.
Bank Managers not like what they used to be there more glorified sales staff now adays.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
Depends on the bank but as said when it comes to things like that the majority of it is decided by computer software or on rare occasions underwriters.0

Lets hope it's not Santander - apparently their managers have less access to their systems than the advisors do !!!Not as green as I am cabbage looking0

And this sums it up brilliantly. They may have the ability to help you appeal the decision or maybe override certain things.

Give the branch manager a target.
Give him/her the authority to make lending decisions.
Put the branch manager in a position where they are behind target and a customer wants them to make a lending decision where the "computer says no".
Do you think they will make the right decision for the business and the customer? Or is it more likely that they will make the decision that gets them closer to their targets?0
