K-Seal - anyone used it for HGF?
My girlfriends 1999 Fiesta has a blown head gasket. Its for sale for spares or repair and advertised clearly with HGF so I'm not looking to con anyone. Someone is viewing it tomorrow and wants to drive it home - we're wondering about throwing some K-Seal in there to get him home.
Anyone ever tried it? Any good/bad reports?

if its gone its gone it not your responsorbility to make sure he can drive it home that would be his choice, i would advise he towed it or trailored it to prevent more damage, as long as you as the seller cover yourself and tell him he drives it home at his own peril knowing the HG has blown.0

Its knackered, end of and no amount of snake oil will bodge it up.0

I have used K-Seal, it is probably one of the few things like these that actually works, it may not cure all leaks, but there are verifiable results for this particular product.
Products like K-Seal are far from "snake oil". And it won't fix problems caused by excessive overheating like a warped head, but it will fix small head gasket leaks.
As far as your Fiesta goes, it depends on how long the car was running after it began to overheat, but as others have said, if somebody has bought it as a non runner but wants to drive it they shouldn't have bought it, as such, it isn't your problem and get your money and leave him to it.0 -
Give them some old milk cartons filled with water instead.
At least he can top it up.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Telling the potential buyer it will need to be trailered is going to cost the sale most probably... I can see why OP wants to get it in a driveable condition so it will appeal to more buyers and sell easier.atrixblue.-MFR-. wrote: »... it not your responsorbility to make sure he can drive it home that would be his choice, i would advise he towed it or trailored it to prevent more damage...0 -
How far does he need to drive it? Might get away with 10/15 miles it probably wont do 100/150miles!0

Thanks all. In the end it wouldn't start anyway so the buyer towed it away. He seemed happy and we got some money
