Are there any companies that will insure a coat? I am looking at spending £340 on a Hugo Boss coat and for obvious reasons would like it insured

You can insure a coat, but you will never get the full value of the coat, as the insurance company will deduct money for "general wear and tear"Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Would it not go under normal household contents insurance as a specified item?0

It would go under normal household contents as an unspecified item - most policies only require specified items for over £1000 (though my policy is £2000)
If you have personal possessions cover it will cover the item outside of the house too.
As has been said though, if you claim for clothing on a policy (even a new for old one) it almost always has wear and tear deducted (I dont know any exceptions to this but I will say almost always in case someone else does)All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
