  • Thanks - Will give it a try now - Was waiting for the price to come down so I can use my £2.50 voucher..

Hope it turns out ok - I think it will be fine as I'm after the darkest colour they do ( do they do black? ) and its mainly for regrowth..
  • Just found this on their website - May help give the best results!! ;

    Tips Before Colouring
After shampooing your hair, wait at least 24 hours before colouring
Perform a skin allergy test 48 hours before use
    Follow the instructions carefully
Select a shade no more than 2 levels away from your current colour
If you have bleached, highlighted, permed or relaxed hair, wait 2 weeks
    Always apply to dry hair
Do not wear accessories or use metal tools
Before applying, comb your hair to detangle it
If colour touches the skin, wipe it off immediately

    Tips During Colouring
Always use as much foam as you can
For short hair, use at least 2/3 of the bottle
For shoulder length to long hair, use the entire bottle
Carefully massage foam through the hair with your fingertips
Be gentle to prevent hair from tangling

There are videos on there too to show you how to apply it right etc ; http://www.johnfrieda.co.uk/homecolour/precision-foam-colour/

The darkest shade they seem to do for me is deep brown black ... Its jet black @ the moment ( my hair ) so might still get one and lighten it up a bit for the summer maybe but am loving it jet black @ the moment!

Its an okay product, easy to apply. But I didnt get the colour on the box. But I did chose the lightest blonde to use on my brown hair. It lightened it a few shades though.

You cannot expect to go from brown to light blonde just by sticking a colour on for 20 minutes (it does say only choose a colour within two shades of your original colour). To do this you need to bleach the hair and is best done in a salon, going blonde (and it looking good) is not something to do on the cheap. You cannot blame the product if it is not used correctly.

Love this product and have been colouring for over 20 years. The great thing about it is that it doesn't make a mess like most other products and feels more gentle on the scalp. Perhaps only negative thing is the colour doesn't last quite as long as some other products but I love the ease of use so don't mind having to do it slightly more often. Have just ordered a year's supply online with free p&p and cashback :) Thanks OP.

I paid the full price for it as it sounding great and was easy to reply but it just didnt cover my grey even after a good 35 mins. i was really peeved as it wasn't cheap and just didnt work but i do have quite strong hair
  • I've used it 3 times now, found it really good, always plenty to cover all your hair too which normal hair dyes i have to buy 2 boxes to make sure i get it all covered, i use the red-brown comes out really nice.

  • They are over £6 in my local Superdrug (Oxford) but I have vouchers too so it's not too bad:)
  • Just a quick note for anyone who either has their hair highlighted or is thinking fo doing so in the future, please don't use this it will cost a fortune to correct.

As these are permanent tints the only way to lift it is bleach, I used the lightest blonde on my roots as a quick fix between hairdresser appointments, big mistake. The lightest actually darkened the colour I had before to a brassy coppery colour (definately not what was n the box). I had to go down the bleach route so my hair has suffered a fair bit.

If you have a dark colour it probably is fantastic but for those with highlights, save your money!
