Reclaiming PPI but no longer have account number

Hello all,
Sorry I am new to this site and have been reading about reclaiming PPI. I am just about to start but do not have the account number any longer. Is there a way of asking or letter template i should use.

Hi there & Welcome

In regards of trying to track down the account number, if you were paying the loan repayments from the bank your with now, vis direct debit, and bank online, this should allow you to go back about 7 -8 years online, its normally shown next to the monthly loan repayment.

And in regards of reclaiming, you complete the reclaiming questionnaire, this replaced the template letter on this site, send to the head office or the complaints dept if they have one of whoever set up your loan.
Remember to keep copies of everything in case you need to refer to this later on or complain to the Financial ombudsman service. (FOS).

They normally have 8 weeks to give a decision, but sometimes ask for more time.
