Royal Mail/Parcelforce Question.

Hi.
My friend has sent me a package from the USA via USPS.
He gave me the tracking number and I have been checking it.
I wake up this morning to see that the status had updated to 'Attempted Delivery at 1.30am' :eek: I know this may be US time, but we didnt have a knock on the door or anything in the morning.
Anyways I check on Royal Mail Tracking (As I thought It was probably them who pick it up this end) and it says;
Service; Express 48
Status; Held
I was just wondering if anyone knew what this meant.

In all my experiences with PF, held means taken to my local Post Office. Have you tried them?0

In my experience, when the item says Express 48....it normally gets delivered within the next 2 days.
If you get a customs charge, it normally says something like "held until charges/fees are paid".0
