My experience with them has been a mixed bag really.

i've brought 2 sets of reformer pilates sessions saving over £200 which was excellent and will be definitely looking out for more of these deals in the future.

i also brought a brazilian blowdry session which wasn't that great - I don't think the hairdresser anticipated the volume of business he would get and spent my whole session moaning about he was making a loss because of Groupon - the actual blowdry lasted 3 weeks where it was supposed to last up to 3 months so was not impressed.

Hmm........as a business person I think he should accept some responsibility for that.
He should have limited the offer if he could only offer limited capacity.
and spent my whole session moaning about he was making a loss because of Groupon

    That's just stupid.
The whole point is to give you a good experience so you go back.

I recently had a free cut & blow dry via a different offer.
The girl was really nice (I felt a bit guilty actually) but now they have gained a long term customer.

I think the Groupon deals, same as KJB really good if you know you're saving money. Agreed though, the idea is that you will return because of great products and equally superior service so that bloke moaning was very stupid and should realise he's probably harmed his business!

  • I live in Brighton. Two of the deals here had merchants go out of business very quickly after running the promotion. (well that we have seen - these merchants are only down the road from us)

One of them (a restaurant) went bust less than two weeks after the promotion.
  • I suddenly stopped receiving groupon e-mails at the end of last year? No idea why as I am still registered on the site. Have e-mailed them twice, but no-one has bothered replying to my e-mail........ Anyone got any ideas? I tried to go onto the site to unsubscribe myself, but couldn't find where to do it......which is a bit sneaky in my book

Everytime I purchase a deal it starts sending me daily emails that I don't want.
The only way I have found to unsubscribe was from the email they sent me.
  • That's what worries me - I don't get the e-mails so I can't find out how to unsubscribe!!!
