Tax credits extra letter?

Hi me and my sister both got a letter before xmas about getting a bigger payment of tax credits in Jan and then taking the money out of the normal tax credits up till april I think it was did anyone else get this letter as neither of us have received extra money and as we have both not kept the letters can't remember if it said we 'may' or 'will' receive it.

Thanks
Mummy to two beautiful girls and one gorgeous boy.
