Made redundant while on secondment

I have been given 3 months notice of redundancy as my substantive NHS post has been removed in a restructure. However, I am currently on secondment to another NHS organisation and the secondment policy states “At the end of the period of secondment, the secondee will return to their substantive role. Alternatively, if this is not possible (due to the length of time of the secondment or organisational changes that might have taken place), they will be offered a suitable comparable post.”
Can I get the redundancy notice removed so that the restructure becomes an issue when I return from secondment and my notice would begin then? My employer says the notice will run alongside the secondment and that this is “standard practice”

I think they probably can run the notice concurrently.

Don't the NHS have consutation periods, did you get involved, you may be able to extend the time if there was no consultation.

In the mean time they/you still need to be looking for alternative positions and you should be allowed to apply for any that come up.

were any others involved allready offered alternatives that you could have done, another angle to look at.
