yeah they have them, but you have to check the drive has the function, but to be honest its pointless cause you have to buy specific CDs to beable to use it and you might as well get a water bases marker and write whats on the disc

They arent that common.
If you cant find one, you can use an external USB drive, just buy one that features lightscribe.0 -

I bought an HP laptop with a Lightscribe drive included - didn't know what it was at first but have subsequently found it invaluable when copying my old LP's to CD. With the right label making software I was able to inscribe title and list of songs onto the CD rather than fiddling with paper inserts.0

With the right printer you can print directly onto inexpensive printable disks..in colourjbtapscott wrote: »With the right label making software I was able to inscribe title and list of songs onto the CD rather than fiddling with paper inserts.

Yeah - I've used laptops with built-in Lightscribe drives as standard. One of my old work PCs had a Lightscribe drive too.
I can't say I've ever been tempted to use the Lightscribe features, though - labelling CDs with a black CD pen seems so much easier!0 -
Toshiba have one

Thanks to everyone who answered me. I have been using light scribe for a couple of years now and i love it. It's the only reason that i haven't gone over to a laptop already, as every time i asked in the shops they looked as if i was doo-lally. Had a look at the Toshiba one santer and it looks good.0

i too love lightscribe. there are a few out there at the moment, look for HP laptops to find it. If you tell me how much you are looking to spend I will find the models in that price range for you, but there are at least 5 hp models with it selling now. I love lightscribe0

Because I used to use a dBASE for controlling distribution over the years since it was invented about five or so years ago I've used it ever since. If you gave me a long forgotten name of one of thousands of customers going back all of that time I could print the same disk and burn the same info to it even now. I cost's only a frack more and is a much neater way to control info. The disk has space for a surprising amount of info and complex serial numbers to be written in a legible format.
