Parking ticket for private land

I received a parking ticket for failing to display my ticket correctly, basically i had accidently put it down the wrong side up. The ticket has a valid number on the back that they registered on there fine ticket. All details where correct I paid for 2 hours and wasnt late, they literally slapped a ticket on my car after two minutes of me leaving it.
They want me to pay £80 in 7 days or it will go up £40 every 7days after.
I really need HELP!!!! what do i do???????????
The car park isnt council run but a private company?? i have my valid ticket to prove i paid.
ANY ADVICE????

"i have my valid ticket to prove i paid."

Start a file with this and all other paper work you will get in it. When the letters stop coming put the file in a cupboard with a 'destory 1 January 2018' note on it.

Why would you bother to keep these details for 9 years?!

    2018-2011 = 7 - maths not your strong point?

You can serve Court papers up to 6 years after a 'debt' is incurred, so rather than throw everything away it's better to keep it, just in case they try it on in 2017.

I have no idea how I got 9 years :o

I've had a company send me a letter asking for payment and then a couple that are apparently from a debt collector. I have the last 2 but the first probably went in the bin.
