Sony RDR-HXD860 vs Denon 2930

I will shortly be buying a Sony KDL-40W2000 LCD TV, which is full HD (1080p). I'm thinking of buying the Sony RDR-HXD860 with it, but now I've read about the Denon 2930, that has full upscaling to 1080p when playing DVD's. Can someone tell me how this compares with the Sony RDR-HXD860 re upscaling? What is the maximum upscale using HDMI with the Sony?

I'm going to hold off buying Sky HD for at least 12 months, and I have a fair collection of DVD's, which, would you believe I've had to watch through a BEKO 4:3 TV up until now, so in the absence of Sky HD, I'm swaying towards buying the Denon as a compromise/treat for myself.

sorry, it's a bit long winded, but to summarise:

1) what can the Sony RDR-HXD860 upscale DVD's to using HDMI
2) any comments from anyone who has done more research/have more knowledge on the subject

Many thanks
