Mobitix - Virgin Trains

Hi,

On Monday I ordered two tickets from Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston through the Mobitix website. The tickets were for Wednesday. I've used them before last May and it worked perfectly so I thought I would try again.

So, I booked the two return tickets and went through the whole ordering process. It said that they would send me a confirmation email and then send me the tickets. It said on the websites FAQ that it takes two hours to go through.

I waited about 4 or 5 hours assumed that the tickets did not go through. On the Mobitix website I looked at the ticket status and the order process was listed as failed. As I still had neither tickets or confirmation I guessed there was some sort of problem and that the order did not go through.

However, to my surprise I checked my online bank statement and I had been charged £64 for the tickets. I phoned up Mobitix and explained. The first person I spoke to was rather helpful and admitted that there was a problem on their side and that they would resend the tickets. She told me to wait 10 or so minutes and I'll get an email through containing print out tickets.

The email came through like the lady said. However, the tickets were for yesterday so I could not possibly use them. So I rephoned Mobitix and after being passed from pillar to post, I got through to speak to someone. I explained the situation and asked if it was possible to have the tickets for another date, seeing as they were not out of date and that they had not sent the tickets to me. I was told it was not possible to change or give refunds on Mobitix tickets and that it was my own fault as I had not contacted them about the problem. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that they would not put me through as there was nothing they could do at there end.

Now is there any way I can get this money back? I'm a student and £64 is a hell of a lot of money for me. Thanks for any advice. :(
