Doing some figures on Electricity
Hi,
Currently with Atlantic FP NSC online fixed monthly debit [£20]
Usage to date works out at 1667 Day and 1409 Night
With such a low monthly debit I do owe around £100 to date
Wondered if switching would help?
They seem to be the best deal at the moment, not checked cash back yet
Thanks
Kev

If you have checked the comparison sites and find you are currently on the best deal, how do you imagine switching will help exactly?
(other than by becoming a switching tart chasing cashback - you'll need that cashback and more to fund the final bill you'll get from the supplier if you switch now.)
I would suggest you contact the supplier to address the current low amount collected monthly to both reflect actual cost of consumption and repay the accrued shortfall."Now to trolling as a concept. .... You should do the figures for your yearly consumption, this will let you know what your monthly direct debit should be. If you don't fix it it will soon mount up.
I have just switched to Atlantic they have the best fixed rate for me for the next year. All others are increasing their rates at the moment and Atlantic have not changed since last year.
Good luck, remember to check the figures I never trust the hype.:)0 -
To clarify, all the major supplies have already increased their prices recently ... and these are all already reflected in the comparison sites.
According to one MSE report - the next price change should be downwards (in a few months time) ... but obviously no change if you have agreed to a fixed rate"Now to trolling as a concept. .... You can't switch anyway without clearing your debt.
If you don't want to increase your DD then just pay off the debt with a lump sum.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

In this case I'm not sure the £100 owed is classed as an existing formal debt because there is no mention it has previously been formally demanded.
I think the OP simply means the account is currently in £100 debit due to the fact they have used more than what they have paid for.
The £100 would be billed on a final bill if they switched (and immediate payment expected), but that would be too late then as any switch would have already occurred."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
