Hi there. I currently work part time (15 hours pw) and do not have a high income. I usually manage ok, just, and don't need to think about loans. Just last night there was a programme on Radio 4 about this very subject. Basically, it confirmed the same as any other poster on here: don't do it. As you've already posted, it's what happens next month and the month after...

Weezl, another board poster, came up with this site - lots of road testing of recipes by other MSE posters - and this should be of help, maybe now and in the future.
