I need some help the garage have replace 2 parts - the idle control valve and the mass air flow meter and it still stalled so my dad took it to a garage who said they knew what was wrong and that they just needed to clean a part.
It is still stalling and £220 wasted. Anyone got any ideas?
It's a 1.3 1996 endura engine.
Everytime I come to a stop or slow down for a roundabout it cuts out

Take it back to the garage where you handed the £220 over and ask them to sort it which is what you paid them to do.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0

Check all the Vacuum/Breather pipes into the Inlet manifold... I'm sure on the Endura theres one running from the rocker cover maybe Oil filler?... Chances are It'll be split.0

Very informative and really helps the OP.:T
Maybe be a bit more helpful if you could tell them what caused it so maybe they can cure their problem.0 -

i bet money on it being the map sensor.0

I had a Fiesta years ago that did this, especially when it was raining. When I bump started it in reverse on the hard shoulder I realised I needed to get rid and never buy a Ford again. I advise do the same because my mate owns a garage and did all sorts, rang up Ford etc, and it never stopped the problem. Worst car Ive ever had, and talking with other Ford owners it seems an inherrent problem.0

throttle position sensor or map as previously said. faulty maf sensor (plastic ones are really cheap and nasty), battery ground wire problem (they do rust on the gearbox and become loose), air intake pipe has a airleak check for split pipes from the throttle housing to their destinations, oil breather pipe wont cause stall. take out air filter box make sure no leaves/bags etc are blocking its intake to the airfilter also check in the box for the same.
faulty coil pack, HT (spark plug) lead connections arent loose faulty or corroded, split, worn (happened to my dad fiesta years ago).
faulty fuel inertia switch (fuel cut off switch) hidden in the passenger side floor well behind the plastic trim that has a circular hole in.
worn corroded battery connections.
worn alternator connection points.
take your pick for your cars symptoms.0 -
