Can anyone tell me about any 'exciting' holidays they have been on?

What kind of things do you like?
What one person finds exciting another may not. Eg a week in Monte Carlo watching the Grand Prix then getting to drive the course in a formula one car, wouldn't appeal to me. But a week in California and playing a round of golf at Pebble Beach would! or Going to the White House and having dinner with George Bush wouldn't really appeal, I'd rather go to Disney and dine with Mickey Mouse!0 -
I tend to look on the Ryanair website and book wherever's cheapest. That's always kinda exciting, as it's generally some city I've never heard of so don't know what to expect. I'm off to Esbjerg on Friday, no idea what's there but should be pretty good!0

Not been on but going...to Alaska (can't wait). We've booked all of our tours / days out and they include Whale Watching, Kayaking and Dog Sled tour on real snow!! The only problem is that we are on a cruise and I suspect it will be full of larger than life yanks. It wasn't cheap but i think it's going to be a once in a lifetime holiday as global warming starts to take effect and starts to change things (very slowly of course).**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0

I did the whale watching in New Zealand. One of the best days ever. An early start and we saw 6 or 7 whales close up, plus lots of dolphins and seals etc.
One of those days you don't forget.0 -
My boss went on an Alaskan cruise last year and he said it was one of the best ones he's done .. he goes on one every year.
He wished he'd had a bigger zoom on his camera as it didn't capture the whales properly for him, still looked ok though.
One thing he was grateful for was the outside cabin he'd paid extra for. Quite a lot extra as far as I know but well worth the money. He said he woke up one morning, looked out of the window and saw massive glaciers, icebergs and beautiful clear skies. I wasn't jealous at all !!
Anyway, he loved it so I'm sure you will too. Oh BTW, he also said he took a trip onto the glacier and they got some pure water from a hole and the guide put vodka in it for them. Blew his head off !!!
Have a great time .. I'm off to Oz in 31 days time for 4 weeks and I can't wait !!Ken Livingstone is my mum0 -
