Why have I never thought of that - I gave up using my silicone loaf pan in disgust and was really cross at asting the money it cost. Don't think it's escaped to the charity shop yet, so must have a go.

Yep, I read to cover it in clingfilm before leaving it to rise.
I would have used a tea towel but as the recipe said to brush the dough with melted butter it would save ruining a tea towel if I used clingfilm.
After all of that my 11 year old said she preferred the bread maker one!
The texture of the oven one was quite open whereas the bread maker one was more of a tight knit texture.
The oven was was brilliant toasted though, very crunchy and tasty.
I did make the medium sized one in the oven compared to a small loaf in the bm.
Today I am going to make a small one to cook in the oven again, hopefully this one won't go mad and I will turn the oven down a few degrees, plus I will make another small one in the bm just for my dd sandwiches tomorrow.0 -
I always put my silicon loaf 'tins' and muffin 'tins' inside a metal one, I use a fan oven and tend to cook about 10 degrees and for 5 mins less than normal (10 mins less if something like a fruit cake!).
