Promoter Cancelling Tickets Purchased on Sandbag

Hi
Hope someone can offer me some advice.
I bought 4 tickets for a gig on Sandbag a while ago, and 2 of my friends dropped out.
I listed the pair of tickets for 99p start price on ebay and offered to show the confirmation email if required. A potential buyer asked to see this email, and I sent a copy (hiding personal details).
I then received this email from Sandbag:
Hi Laura
We have been contacted by the promoter of the show in Manchester who has spotted that you're selling your tickets on ebay. He has requested that we cancel and refund your order. The money will be refunded back onto your card within the next three working days.
Kind regards
Could anyone advise whether this is allowed! I was doing my friends a favour and looking forward to the gig. I asked to see the T&C's of sale and this still wasn't provided, just got this response:

If the promoter doesn't want you for any reason they don't have to have you at their show.
All covered in the sandbag ts + cs:Right to admission is reserved by the promoter and event venue0 -
unfortunately yes. The fact you showed your receipt to a prospective buyer before they paid was the cardinal mistake. It still would have had your reference ID number on there. The name and address is unimportant.0
