  • Hi you should look up the experienced people forum! Lots of website related info there from experts!
 2014: £20 voucher from SurveyFriends, £10 cash payout from Panel Opinion too and working towards more from Valued Opinions currently.
2013: £35 and £50 vouchers from SurveyFriends! More than £15 made from other paid surveys sites (Yougov, Panel Opinion, Valued Opinions, Pinecone, etc.) Happy so far!

i use these here for free hosting, never had a problem and also able to install opencart for e-commerce

A second vote for these guys. I use them to host my driving school website and I've recently designed a few websites for friends and I've used them for hosting again.

Don't use a free web host. I use www.hostsphere.co.uk for all my websites that I build. Prices start at £9.99 for the year and have one click installers for Wordpress and Joomla. However you can still install one of the many templates available.

Alex runs the company and he is fantastic, queries are answered in no time at all and you can even phone him direct on his mobile if you have a problem.

  • I use Hostgator, have been for a year now and I haven't had any issues with their service. The online chat helpline is on 24/7 and they are very helpful and professional.

Total investment? £10 for doamin and time setting up Wordpress blog. A friend hosts for me, so no paying for that. I logged into my Google Adsense account which I also set up last year for the first time in months tonight to find that i have a whole £1.99 sitting in there...GET IN! What a waste of web space. What's the point of it?

  • I was going to suggest going to www.gbbo.co.uk

Its a UK initiative to "Get British Business Online" (GBBO) and in conjunction with a number of organisation including BT and Google, they are offering british small business owners a free .co.uk website for free for 2 years to help your business get off the ground. You can choose your own domain name and have full editing and modfying access.

I got my website from them (www.music-and-me.co.uk if you're interested in seeing a basic example - I am still setting it up and I'm not a web designer so probably not the best example!) and I'm really pleased with it.

After 2 years, if you don't want the website any more you have no obligation to continue with it. They don't take any bank details from you either when you sign up.

The other great thing is that as it is in conjunction with Google, they send you (if you want) advice on how to market well online, including free £75 vouchers for Google adwords and also BT call you up every now and then at the beginning to see how your website is getting on and to see if they can help you with anything. If you don't want them to, you just tell them, but they do offer a free help line for any questions you might have to do with the website and advertising.

I've been really pleased with them and the whole set-up and I was really pleased for the opportunity to get a free, quality website with my own domain name, because I'm a single mum with not much money, trying to establish a business with not much money!! HTH
Slowly working towards earning enough money (through various ventures) to live unworriedly, treat my family and sleep under a lovely roof. x

Yes I have a site thru https://www.gbbo.co.uk too.
    Its http://www.EdinburghTouristInfo.co.uk

They do phone you and try to upsell to a professional web design package, but a simple "no thanks" is suffice.
