E-On refusing to accept meter readings

nomoneytoday - That is exactly what I have been trying to get them to do - I am prepared to pay for the difference of a couple of weeks until the reading was taken.
I know for a fact that there was not a large bill run up between tenants as I turned off the gas and electricity in the house when I took these meter readings.
Spiro - not that I am like that but if I did run heating and electricity 24/7 in a 3 bed semi for 2 weeks I doubt it would amount to 2300 KWH or almost £600!0 -
If Eon have repeatedly only estimated the bills & closed the account knowing that to be so (when they could have sent out a meter reader to check - being an electricity supplier is a business too you know!!!) I would argue the problem is theirs & not a third party dispute at all, that's just an "easy out" (their lack of professional dilligence being your possible legal argument*) If they feel otherwise personally I'd go ahead & take external advise / tell them to see you in court.

You may be of the opinion that is the case, but without the facts (meter readings) to back up the statement, it's unlikely you'll be able to prove it.Spiro - not that I am like that but if I did run heating and electricity 24/7 in a 3 bed semi for 2 weeks I doubt it would amount to 2300 KWH or almost £600!
How much?
That amount of electricity should only cost about half that price, even on the suppliers standard tariff.
As already advised to you by the Eon rep., you need to contact their appropriate departmnent with a request for them to re-estimate.
You do realise that if successful, they will then bill your "friends" (former tenants) for the difference."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Latest update from ex tenants - E-on have told them how much their bill will be so they are not prepared to agree to accept these meter readings!
Latest from E-on - will not accept my meter readings without written consent from both parties. Will not even re-estiamte for a more accurate closing bill for the tenants as their rep on here suggested they do! Apparently "deemed agreement" makes this all ok and cannot and do not need to provide any proof of entering an agreement with me for energy supply
Premier - I am not too up to date on the actual costs but this is the information I have. They are billing me 18.89p for 128 kWh of "normal primary units used" and 1275 kWh at 10.34p each for "secondary units used" for electricity.
Gas is 382 kWh at 4.352p each for "primary units used" and 2.774p each for "secondary units used" (these are 2008 prices)
Conveniently avoided my suggestions that they acted to defraud me. And all this from the complaints department! Looks like ConsumerDirect and legal action are the only options.0
