Need a new printer.

Hello. My old HP inkjet has finally gone senile so I'm in the market for a new printer and am looking for some recommendations.

What I need...
  • Inkjet preferable
  • Excellent quality photo printing
  • Ethernet port for connection to home network.
  • Ability to print A4 documents and envelopes
  • Built-in Scanner/Copier with high DPI
What would be nice, but not essential...
  • Ability to print onto printable DVD/CD disc faces.
  • Reasonably quiet
  • 150+ page tray
  • Any bundled software to be useful and not too resource happy (my old HP was bad for this)
  • ADF system.
  • Borderless photo printing
  • Direct connection to digital camera
Budget is in the region of £200-£275.

I've looked at several printers that seem to fulfill these specs but I am eager to hear from anyone who has first hand experience with any printer that fulfills my requirements and can make a recommendation based on them.

Thank you for your time.

For the job you want i asume photo quality is most important ??? to get good quality prints DO NOT BUY A PRINTER THAT ONLY HAS 4 COLOURS make sure you buy a printer that takes 6 or more inks,

I would recomend you buy an epson 1400 A3 printer you will get superb quality prints for photos it will do envelopes will do cd/dvd discs has picbridge so will do all you want with quality and speed, and just buy a canon canoscan scanned for you scanning needs,

Thanks for the recommendation, I shall take a look at it.

Photo quality is probably the most important overall. My partner would need to use it for her work too, hence the need to print envelopes.

I'll price up a seperate scanner, and also see if I can fit it all in to the office.

    Cheers for the advice.

Check out epson px720wd this is a 6 colour wireless printer, will do discs and photos very well. I have had mine since christmas and am very pleased with it, have found compatible carts for around £5 for a set too, although I am still on the original epson carts.

Should also say, this is an all in one, with card reader.

Thank you for the link. That does look a good option. I'll definitely consider it.
