Tinned S/p sardines in tom sauce, fine for on toast, and even cheaper than cat food :D I use them

I also used S/p frozen chicken bits, as once again it was cheaper than cat food

The moggy is long gone, but still use sardines, chicken no no

Oats I find are fine as well

  • I use loads of stuff SP since they are mostly added to other things anyway.

Beans, spaghetti/hoops, tuna, eggs, potato salad, mulitpack dips, multipack maize snacks (crisps for the wee one), tortilla chips, pitta breads, bananas actually most fruit and veg, toilet cleaner isn't too bad, baby wipes are good for cleaning, loo roll if I'm really skint, kitchen towel the same, bin bags are not bad at all, fromage frais, jellies (I add my own fruit for a pudding for little one), tinned fruit is good for adding to cakes or as a back up to make fruit smoothies, frozen veg and fruit, ready meals if they are reduced or I'm stuck and skint, cheese spread and cheese slices, cream cheese, fruit juices, ham, most tinned goods, chicken paste, chicken noodles, pasta dried, cheese and broccolli packet mix. That's all I can think of off the top of my head I'm sure if I thought about it there'd be plenty more.

I actually prefer SP to say Heinz probably because I was brought up on basics food whereas my LO's dad always are Heinz etc and thinks SP is too watery/cheap. I think the range is pretty good to be honest.

So does anyone buy Smart Price items and how do you find them?

There's this thread on the Grocery Shopping Board, so I'll move this over and it may get merged :)

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.

  • Nothing wrong with the Sp instant noodles curry/chicken for a snack.

Only 10p a pack and tastes the same as the super noodles imo.
