Hi,please could someone advice me if my income support will continue
I currently receive DLA middle and lower, incapacity nil allowence and income support.
I am a single mother to my 12 year old.I have just recieved a letter stating that the jobcentre have forwarded my detail to HMRC so that child tax credits can be awarded, but it says that I will no longer be able to recieve income support as a lone parent and they will continue to pay the child element until my income suport ends.
Does this mean that they are stopping my income support or will it automatically change to income support but for another reason other than for being a lone parent or will I have to claim a new benefit?
Thank you for reading and I appreciate any advice you can give me

As I understand it you won't be able to get income support anymore, you'll have to claim JSA or ESA.0

Hi swanseagirl...
Your JC have made a mistake - if you are receiving IB credits only, you are EXEMPT from the lone parent changes. Therefore, they should not have sent a 'deemed' CTC application to HMRC.
You can remain on IS - ring them tomorrow & make sure they definately have you down on the IS screens as having IB credits.
Let me know how you get on.
Cheers,Oops!! Should I have posted this??? Some users don't think I shouldn't be offering advice due to my occupation!!!

Thank you for replying

I have contacted the Job Centre and they are saying there is no record of my IB and that the child tax credits will happen regardless. Now I am panicking as I can't find the letter I received stating that my IB was continuing.
I have made an appointment with Job Centre for the beginning of March.I could really do without this at the moment,I cant believe I have to wait until March to try and get this sorted.
Can they really have lost all information about my IB ? I dont know what will happen now,if they have what can I do ? and if they haven't will my IS continue ?0
