When I had the mobile internet on a phone I used to have a problem of getting the main site rather than the slimmed down mobile version, but now I have a netbook running XP Home I have the same problem. Is it because I'm using a mobile broadband dongle?

If your broadband dongle is in a poor reception area it will drop down from 3G signal to GPRS (same as mobile phones use). This could be the cause of you getting the mobile site.

When you go on google, does it too show the google mobile site?
If so, then its to do with the way your PC appears to the websites servers - it believes pages are being served to a mobile device. Try MS powertools and change the browser agent, or try with a different web browser like chrome.
If not, then try clearing your cookie files.0 -
They've started in the last fortnight redirecting my WM6 mobile to the main site.... might be something stuffed up their end.
can you not set it with a cookie/other stored preference to load the main one?0 -

I'm already on Google Chrome; same thing happens on Opera, though.
I've tried clearing the cookies. 'Where is MS powertools'? It's not under 'system tools'.0 -
