Survey costs???

Can anyone advise what we can currently expect to pay for medium (used to be called 'Homebuyers') and full (structural) surveys?

(Last move was 3 years ago - to a new house - so a valuation was all that was required)

Many thanks

Not sure about full structural, but I've had quotes from three companies for a 'homebuyers' on a 2 bedroom flat. All of them have been around £275 - £300 + VAT. My view is that it's always worth paying for (and if I were buying new I wouldn't be happy with just the valuation, and would get a homebuyers sruvey for that as well, but that's just paranoia and a dad who used to work for a housebuilder!)

I paid £400 inc for a Homebuyers survey last July. Notts area.
The full structural one was in the region of £1000.
    Hope that helps.
  • I had full structural for a Victorian House in London. Had two quotes of £1k incl VAT and one of £1k excl VAT.

Depends on your location and the value (well, asking price/offer price) of the property in question. In the North West for houses around the £200k mark, I was getting quotes around the £300-500 mark.
