I have been given a Netbook its a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo D1845 Yep its old and not much HDD 512Mb Ram & Windows XP Home. Well in my wisdom as it was someone elses b4 I thought about wiping it clean I didnt have a Home disk but i had a XP Professional and i inserted it in to the drive and instead of wiping it i chose to reinstall didn't do it on purpose just a dummy moment. When it finished the screen still showed XP Home so as i was still in Dummy mode i did it again :embarasse now Not only have i filled the HDD up I have 2 Copy's of Pro installed and i cant do anything i tryed to put the disk back in so i could wipe the lot and start again nothing! so then i came across ccleaner where you can wipe the PC clean but I cant install it my home page displays but when i come to ccleaner everything is ok untill i try to install another window opens and flashes on and off its not displaying anything at this point except the Taskbars on top of the page which flashes on and off but I waited for ages while this flashing continued but it didn't stop.
If i get it going again can i use an external HDD??? Thanks

you should have a few WINDOWS.OLD folders, delete them

Ideally though, you should be able to (once again) start the install from DVD, and this time format the HDD (assuming you did back up everything that matters)

When you are installing XP, in the options and setup you can find older versions of Windows which you can then tell the install disk to format over.....0
