I just found the story again by going onto the pepipoo website, go to forums, search for 'meteor' in there, and it's the first one on the list - topic no 50873'.
It's a long thread and ends with the person preparing to go legal to reclaim clamping costs etc. So not clear what the final result was.

I know I could go there if necessary, ultimately, but honestly, do not want the aggro. Don't even want the harrassment of receiving letters from them. I haven't done anything wrong.

Still waiting to hear from Meteor after emailing them a photo of the ticket I bought. If they (as I expect) still try to persist, would it be worth complaining to Trading standards, Southern, my MP(!) or whatever BEFORE the threatening letters start to arrive?

    cheers all

BTW does anyone know whether Meteor are BPA members (and allegedly work to the BPA code of practice, however rubbishy that might be? a quick look at the BPA code suggests Meteor fall short in several ways at the station I have in mind ) neither of their websites seems to say.

meteor have rescinded the parking charge notice (warning me not to let it happen again) - must buy tube of superglue.

    Thanks folks.

Now it's time for me to get after them and/or Southern railway about persistent malfunctioning ticket machines and the large middle section of the car park which has been unlit these dark mornings for months - meaning the middle ticket machine is in total darkness. 'Park mark' scheme, indeed.
