So, why is my Emerging Markets fund tanking compared to other holdings?

I don't mind some risk, is there an Africa fund anyone might consider worth a peek?

Can only find 4 Africa ACC funds on Trustnet.

  • I was looking at the Fidelity EMEA (emerging Europe, Middle East and Africa) fund a few months ago, it seemed interesting with the largest investments in S.A. and Russia, but I chickened out last minute as I felt a little uneasy about it, it is still on my radar though.
  • DWS Invest Africa DS1, up 22% on a year ago, down 6.63% on a month ago, Fidelity Emerging EMEA, up 21.56% on a year ago, down 5.39% on the month, Investec Africa and Middle East, up 10.91% on a year ago , down 7.85% on the month, JP Morgan Africa, up 20.72% on the year, down 8.34% on the month, couple of others with very short track records 1 year<.

Africa has really tanked from early January but looking at the MACD and RSI it may be a good time to look at getting back in. There is a cross on the MACD now, but I would personally be waiting for the RSI to strongly trend through 50 and the MACD to cross 0 before I bought in.
