Busted grill - advice please

I have an integrated electric oven with a grill in it. Unfortunately the grill has stopped working. Having switched off the electric supply, I took a torch and looked at the element, it seems a white internal bit is poking through the external hard grey casing. Without any real knowledge, I'm guessing this could be the problem.
I understand spare grill elements are available. However, for a Bosch oven, how easy are they to replace? Where can I find out more model-specific information? I'd need to understand how to remove the old one and insert the new one.
I can wield a screwdriver and do basic diy but haven't any experience with electrics. Is this something I should even attempt or am I silly to even think this?
I think safety first but don't want to shell out my hard earned cash if it's straightforward and safe to do myself.
Many thanks for any comments

Have a look on the espares website. They do the parts and also have some very helpful videos about how to change common parts in domestic goods.
If you get the part and can't fit it, you haven't lost anything, as you can just get a white goods engineer in to fit it for you.
