Was wondering if anyone is in the same situation as us.
We have a business which joins our private property, we only have one electric meter and all our electricity is supplied through the business. Was thinking will the energy provider give us two different rates as i think we are paying a premium rate for the business energy.would they allow say 20% for private use.
First thread so may be a little sketchy, i hope you understand it!!!
Cheers

Two different tariffs will require two different meters/supplies.
That'll be expensive to get installed.
Otherwise the supplier is correct in having you on a business tariff as you use more for business purposes.
However, if you speak with your supplier and advise them that some of the usage is for domestic purposes, they may be able to pro-rata the agreed amount at the appropriate VAT rate
e.g. 80% @ 20% vat
20% @ 5% VAT
Similarly the climate control levy may also be adjusted to reflect the mixed usage.
