...I think the point of tigerfeets post was to make your outgoings bigger so that it is clear that there is no spare money to get...
I agree.
Understandably, I don't think the poor lass is thinking too clearly.
I don't have TigerFeet's expertise, but the amendments suggested seemed very sensible to me.
Knowing how the 'other side' reads the form is priceless in situations such as this.0 -
You wont be given any allowance for food, electricity or gas as these figures are predetermined and based on the DWP figures. If this was one I was doing it would be something like
Couple - £474.00
Child 1 - £244.00
Child 2 - £244.00
Mortgage - £608.00
C Tax - £89.00
Water £40.00
Mob - £10.00
Phone - £20.00
TV Licence - £12.00
Total - £1741.00
CB - £134.80
Tax Credits - £100.00
OH Income - £1120.00
Total - 1354.80
Expenses (1741.00) - Income (1354.80) = 386.20
Protected Earnings Rate = £390.00
Left Over = £60.00
Normal Deduction Rate = £25.00 per month
This is the order that I would do based on the figures given (I have guessed Tax Credits because wasnt sure how much you are getting) xxPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

I dont understand the fugures you have above at all. We only get £80 tax credits per month, our water is £44 and mortgage is £795 as its a together mortgage with northern rock so dont want to mess with this payment as we want to keep the house and have been advised not to stop paying the unsecured part at the moment to prevent them getting a charge order and making it secured.
Also and correct me if im wrong but you ahve put expenses at £1741 and income at £1354 which gives -£386?
what is protected earnings rate?
I cant see how they can give you an estimate for electric we have no gas so all electric heating and I have a 3month old baby and its winter, what am I suppose to do get behind on those payments too and owe everyone money.
I have roughly done the form (on laptop) and come out with income at £1785.04 and expenses at £1782 should I put car tax on this too at £10 which would make us -£7 a month? Becasue we are not currently saving for this at the moment.0 -
Hi Oliviasmummy. I have just used guesstimate figures in the calculation because I wasn't sure of your actual ones just to show how it is worked out. The Protected Earnings Rate is the amount of money you have to earn before any deductions can be made. It is calculated on predetermined figures with additional amounts allowed for mortgage, council tax and water sometimes tv licence and telephone as well as travel are taken into account too.
The income part is calculated on all income received except yours to work out the protected earnings rate.
Put every expense that you have on the form but not all will be allowed and some rates are preset. Once an order is made you have 16 days to object to it if you think the payment given is too high. Likewise the other side can object if they think it is too low. xxPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

Hi,
How do you all know how much is allowed for the likes of food and bills etc? I've looked on the internet and can't find the info anywhere.
We too are in a similar situation (family of four), and are not wanting to shoot ourselves in the foot by not allowing for every eventuality by not putting a reasonable amount in the monthly figures.
In the same vain, I don't want to put too much!0
