Private Parking Charge

Hi,

New to the forum and hoping someone can help?

I've recently received a parking charge from LDK security who issued a fine as I was parked in a disabled parking bay. The reason I had parked in this space was I had my father with me who is registered disabled and had his badge with him. Unfortunately for me it had fallen from the dashboard onto the floor where it was not visible to the guy issuing the parking fine.

I told the guy who issued the fine what had happened and the only advice he could offer was appeal against the charge. After reading many websites I think an appeal won’t be of any use

This is an honest genuine mistake and I would never even consider parking in a disabled parking bay without my father present (and don’t use his badge when he isn’t with me) but I feel the £60 charge is high and very unfair.

Can anyone offer any advice?

Yes, you just ignore them. You have done nothing wrong and you don't owe them a penny. The "appeals" process is a complete sham as it's not an independent process. By not communicating with them you don't give them the opportunity to find out the identity of the driver. Without that information they can't go anywhere.

And, by the way, it's not a "fine", it's an invoice.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Oh look it's another case of a PPC hounding a disabled vehicle for parking in a disabled bay without showing the "meaningless on private land piece" blue badge.

    You have done nothing wrong
You don't owe them a penny
    The Landowner suffered no loss
    Do not contact the PPC
If it was a car-park attached to a shop, write to the manager of the shop to say if this is how they treat disabled customers you shall be taking your custom elsewhere.

    As above.

Do not under any circumstances contact them.

They will give up after a while.

Same advice from me. Ignore them and the letters they will send to the registered keeper.

You have not been legally 'fined', you will just get some begging letters. Think of them as similar to phishing emails and just file them without reading the extortion attempt within.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
