Can Anyone Point Me In The Right Direction

Options
Hi

I dont know where to post for support/advice so sorry if in wrong place.

We are a group of parents who are in the process of getting our group constitutioned so that we can apply for funding & raise monies to run some much needed childrens services in our area mainly for birth to 5yr olds - as none of us have done anything like this before we are just wondering if anyone has any advice or knows of any websites etc where we could get information from
thank you

your local voluntary services council - google that plus your area / county / town to find it.

Also get in touch with the local council: probably Children and Young People's Services. They will know if there are any 'umbrella groups' who might be able to help.

Although I'm curious - what sorts of services? Playgroups? Special needs provision? Something else?

  • Hi

Thanks Sue for the reply - the services we are hoping to provide will hopefully be something similar to what sure start centres offer things like baby massage, baby yoga, breastfeeding support group, stay & play seesions, messy play sessions, saturday morning sessions for dads & children, these will be for the inclusion of all children & hopefully be able to support families with special needs with the support of the health care professionals - basically the more funding we can access the better level of service we hope to provide for all children in our area as our SS centre which was due to open has had all the funding pulled !!!
