Tesco online prices

Does anybody else have this - We live approx half a mile from a fairly big Tesco's but for some reason if I order online then my shopping comes from the store 12 miles down the road.

Now this isn't a problem but the store down the road doesn't face much competition so it's prices aren't as keen as my local one but I am suppossed to pay those prices by ordering online:mad:

I met some people at the weekend, one of which works there and even she said that she shops in my local not the other one because of the price differences

Can I get Tesco to honour the prices in my local shop, and why am I not getting my shopping from there anyway?

Maybe its because your local one doesnt offer home shopping yet?

I find it odd how they can charge different amounts at the stores - do you live near a large city or something and one of them is more inner city?

many stores do charge different prices for the same goods. I suppose it depends on market forces. In Manchester, there is a Tescos Metro and a Tescos express - about 5 minutes walk from each other, yet the prices of some goods varies dramatically between the two. There is also a Tescos in one of the poorer suburbs on Manchester which hardly stocks any "finest" food, yet is more expensive for some goods than the city shops. You will probably find this no matter where you go.

  • Actually my local is slightly bigger and one of my friends is one of their 'online shoppers'.

Bloody annoying that I get charged £5 approx to bring the groceries 12 miles and pay extra when it could come half a mile and be cheaper!
